16 Monday, September 15 Irvine, AB The biggest news to report is that finally, the winds have changed to my favour. At lunch today in Seven Persons, I managed to puncture another tyre on my bike. By the time I got that fixed, and set out again, I had a good tailwind that blew me right into Medicine Hat in about half an hour (15mi). After dinner there, I made another 15-20mi or so to Irvine, in again about half an hour - 45 mins. I am struck again by the friendliness of the people here. In Seven Persons, the air pump of the only gas station was broken, so they directed me to a guy in the village who had a portable compressor. Not only did he let me use it, he helped me change my tyre, gave my bike a tune-up and sent me on with some corn and vegetables from his garden. Unbelievable. Anyway. Medicine Hat is quite a nice town. Reminds me a lot of Victoria. Fairly old, and with a lot of character. O well, enough rambling already. Live for Today -------------- There's no use in going in circles For it's mine to conquer, the World. In the winds, I will but bend Until the end. I'm gonna live for today. Come what may, Though dark clouds may bar my way. You can't give Give for me to stay. I'm gonna live Live for today. To the signs that would slow me down And to those who would beat me into the ground: I'm on my way to the highest gate; I will not wait. I'm gonna live for today. Come what may, Though dark clouds may bar my way. You can't give Give for me to stay. I'm gonna live Live for today.
